"Take the Cake"

How to sleep and how to feel,

Seems a most depressing state

Of lolling heads and pleasing snides,

A most unfortunate fate.

But why cry while the bird sings?

It’s tune is ever so spiteful,

But the alarm is so deceitful.

A tiger’s roar is much more soothing

With primal walls and natural laws

Not made by man, but ruled by it.

Man is the only outlier, and we all

Know where they belong.

Not at the top of a cake, so

Sweet and savory.

The icing a sickening kiss

The fork of blinding malice,

Always finding the bottom of the plate.

Coming together with a big bang,

But dirty hair always gets in the way,

The taste so satisfying.

Bodies can’t handle the stench

Of rotting lies and dying souls--

That is why we are left behind,

Leaving a scar in our place.
