Take it Back
I take back
All those soft whispers I shared over the phone
Since the only time you listened
Was for my words of praise,
Not when I didn’t like your drinking
Or your pleas to be my first,
The only one to watch me take a sip of poison
In a cold dingy bar
Or car
Or
Bedroom,
Maybe,
Funny how I always told you no,
Funny how you’d ignore me,
Funny, baby, no,
but you figured a willing heart like mine
deserves a good show;
so, I wish I could take it back
every time I said I loved you,
because every time I did you got closer
and closer
to using every bit of me,
and I nearly forgot everything I used to be.
Take it back,
I'll never see you again.
