take a moment

if I happen to

                      wake up

to the soft patter of rain outside my window

arms curled around

                                 my sheets

                                 (around you)

cat at the foot of my bed

warm purr reminding me I’m human

send me a love letter through your rhythmic exhales

and let me know I’m home
