Take My Hand

You are not alone in this, Around you, too cold to stand alone Lend me your hands, I will show you the world I will keep you warm When death is at your doorstep It will steal your innocence But it will not steal your substance Close your eyes for a while And feel life surround, enclose you Relive your heart, As you watch the rains go down, Drip, down, towards the ground But remember the warmth in your hand, You are not alone in this. You must see life to know the decline Of your frame, your mind, your memories You will live in this body You will die in this body You are so small and death so looming But I will hold on your hand You will not die alone. Fill not your void with things, But with a squeeze of a hand, Or two, or three, or more So as to fill with more warmth And if you let go In a moment of weakness I will call you by name, You hopeless wanderer, If you get lost, you can always be found.
