Take Out a Sheet of Reality

A groan or a sigh emits at the sight of 2x+5,

The sum of the curriculum is only half alive.

History is taught for comparison to modern day,

What's the point if teaching current events has frayed?

I'm living in a furnished home but I'm blind,

Wanting to know what's around me is on my mind.

Yeah we've heard the government is at a stir,

But students are vetoed the details from what I infer.

The schools of the inner cities are mentioned once again,

But we don't know why if our teacher isn't CNN.

From what I hear, school is preparing us for life,

But knowing state's names but not our country's state creates strife.

If we're taught what our world just lost or what we could achieve,

Our youth wouldn't be noted as being naive.
