Take A Step Forward

Woke up yesterday thinking,

"Maybe, it'll go alright."

Being optimistic,

Sometimes being pessimistic,

Depending on my doubts.

Thought it would go okay.

Ended up being a pretty bad day.

Ever so tired,

Ever so plain.

Nothing to do.

Bored of playing games.

Got up,

Went for a walk.

The weather was just lovely,

And the sun was smiling.

Dark outside.

So beat

And so sleepy.

Heading back home,

The moon guiding me.

Went to my room.

Took a step towards my window.

Saw the moon smiling at me,

And I thanked it for guiding me back safely.

Woke up this morning thinking,

"Another day."

Was so slow

And still sleepy.

Got ready for school.

Skipped breakfast

And took a step towards the door.

And would you believe it?

I saw the sun,

And it was saying "Hello."

And in that moment,

I realized:

No matter what,

The moon will go down,

But the sun will always come up.

There will be bad days and it'll get dark,

But a new day will always come

And it'll be bright.
