Taken and turned into feminist.
From betrayal I rise with snakes as strengths.
Hunted and hated by masculinity for long lengths.
An evil trophy I am seen but what I truly should be is an honored precious queen.
Betrayed by blood, taken advantage of by man.
If only people could truly understand,
that my rights were seen as wrongs
& if I could I would write a different song.
I am the woman who will turn you to stone,
the one who was never truly known.
I am the woman who could not stand up for herself,
forever damaged and put on a shelf.
I am the one who just wanted to please,
never thought of to be the one in need.
Now I will be there to help,
a female friend unparalleled.
Now allowed to be seen,
my hair may be full of snakes but they are not mean.
They only protect me from envious men,
allow us to protect you from them.
