Taken Over

It hurts.

It Physically

Mentally hurts

To be in this body,

But not able to control it.

To hear what it hears,

See what it sees,

But not able to respond

To those senses.

I long to be free,

Free of this prison

In my head,

Which I have been stuffed into.

I band my fists

Against my cage

And scream,

Until both my hand and throat

Are coated in blood.

And still no one saves me.

So I turn my back

On my body’s senses,

And disappear into darkness,

Letting the alien inside me

Take over all control,

To live her life in my body,

Free of me in every way, except

My memories,

Which haunt her

Mercilessly.
