Taken too soon

Dear Derek,

The day you left was the day I learned that life isn’t fair

God lifted you above and took you right from my hands

up into his heavenly airI wondered why he took you so soon But I couldn’t complain I was only twoI had no idea of what I lost until I was listening to the stories with a broken heartI sat on his bed in his vacant room I lost my best friend and our potential tore me apartI saw his car go vroom vroom and the next dayYou’d never again see the flowers bloomeveryday I wonder what could’ve been but I know you are up there happy again.
