Taking Action

The devil whispered in my ear to follow.

I told him no, but his voice lingered.

My soul is pure, but my body was corrupted by the moment of temptation.

Away I followed. Into the darkness, unaware of where it would take me.

Deeper I went. Now hidden in a cloak made of dreams and contentment.

It seemed like the right place to be, away from the World I once knew.

Day after day, I hid. Clutching on to every hit the devil gave me.

Until the contentment began to wear off...

Anxiety and saddness came in it's place.

My body grew worried, and my mind began to comprehend the spell I was under.

I needed to get back to the light.

"HELP" I screamed. But there was only blackness.

It seemed that nobody could hear me...

Except the devil, who laughed at me maniacally from the shadows.

It was then that not anger arose from me, but sorrow.

Sorrow accompanied by utter terror.

I realized the person that I had become... trapped in my selfishness.

My mind raced. I couldn't put a pause on the continuous flow of feelings.

I weeped and begged God for forgiveness, and the power to forgive myself.

After crying hard into myself, I closed my eyes and waited to regain my sanity.

It felt like years before my eyes slowly began to open.

But when they opened, something amazing layed before me.

A breath takingly peaceful garden of flowers.

I slowly stood up, thinking I was in a dream.

My dreams hadn't been like this in a long time...

I looked down at my feet. Smelled the air. Noticed the puffy white clouds floating by above me.

This was real.

I began to weep again. Except this time, my tears were euphoric.

God had given me a second chance, and he had given me what I had been seeking.

Peace.

I had been tempted by the devil, because I did not want to wait for this moment.

He offered me an easy way out of my pain.

But in the end, it only made my sorrows worsen.

Now, with the help of God, I was in the most beautiful place I had ever been before.

I raised my head to the sky and thanked God as tears streamed down my face.

He saved me.

I choose to be better and God saved me.

Life is worth living, Life is utterly amazing and I am not going to waste a day more.

I love you, my God. I love myself. And I love the Earth you put me on.
