The Taking of My Soul

The Taking of My Soul

Feverish and red-eyed

Stalking their prey

With a hunger that never dies

Looking back

Only to look forward

And run

Of course they never realize

It is too late

Down in less than a second

Drained of energy in less than five

Drained of life in less than ten

Hardly a struggle

Not a fist is raised

Adreniline pumping

Shaking with fear

Feverish and red-eyed

Too late

Always too late

Everlastingly too loate

Stammering out a prayer

Hoping help will come

Knowing that it never will

Understanding that death is near

Giving up because there is no way out

So with a heavy heart

Feverish and red-eyed

You die
