The Tale of Fate

she knew he was trouble

but she lived her whole life in a bubble

her nights were spent sneaking out

he loved her, no doubt

they had problems

he left in autumn

she went on with her life

knowing she was meant to be his wife

he went to war

came back and saw her at the store

he stopped and wondered if it was meant to be

she was stuck on reality

the future undetermined

yet so certain

she had her head held high

tired of the goodbyes

until she met patrick

a hopeless romantic

they spent days and nights together

their love was suppose to be forever

he enlisted as an airborne ranger

soon they became strangers

a devoted soldier

deep down his heart grew colder

no more time for her

both were reminded of what they once were

he left to iraq

she grew bitter her heart turned black

they never lost hope

because one day in the future they would elope

fate knew their future

even when they were unsure

was it really meant to be

that the true one was indeed he ?
