Tale of Persephone

It rains in the cold city

Death and decay in the shadows no one sees

Rape and murder in the shallows no one will be

A poor girl shines bright

In the city with no light

She sits there and cries

Besides her dead mothers side

A dark figure approaches

"It is the devil" she thought

But the figure took off his dark hood, and revealed the face

Of a man with a pure heart

He flashed a light at them, took out his phone and called for help

Waiting beside the girl, holding her close

Kept her warm under the moonlight

Once help comes, they take the dead woman away

No one went after the man who took the child away

The girl was warm and safe, looking up at her savior

"I will take you to your new home, my new wife"

As he says that, she feels relieved

The tale of Persephone

Modern and pleased
