A Tale of a Procrastinator

In the beginning of each year
I tell myself I will do well
Promising to do all my homework
Never skip any class
Turn in my work on time
Be prepared
And the reality hits me hard
Life just runs away
All those reasonable promises seem to disappear
Instead of starting on my homework,
I really need to finish watching that episode on netflix
I really need to check my Instagram likes
I really need to go catch up with my friend at Starbucks
I really need to live my life…
And then just like that it’s the night of
No sleep, just work
1am
2am.
Pretty soon its 4 in the morning
My homework is done
But just barely
The minimum is complete
How is this good?
How is it okay?
Life gets in the way of schoolwork
Ugh, I am a procrastinator
