Tales
There is a story of two tales growing up,
Pigtails and fairy tales.
The real and the dream.
The pigtails were bouncy and fun.
The fairytales were magical and out of reach.
We started becoming older,
The tales turned into reality,
The pigtails got let down.
We realized we were grown women.
Castles turned into two story houses.
Horses and carriages were now sports cars.
The magic we had dreamed of turned into money.
The prince turned into a spouse.
The role of taking ruling the kingdom,
Is now a career.
The magic slippers,
Turned into the shoes we wear on date night.
Some things don’t change though.
Love is still love.
Happiness is still happiness.
Your imagination dims down,
But the magic will restore.
You will look down at the newly born baby,
You will watch them grow up.
Comb their hair and put it in little pigtails.
Read them fairy tales as you tuck them in at night.
And you will realize reality can be a dream.
Growing up is a beautiful part of life.
Live your tale.
