A Talk with my Dad

Looking in my dad’s eyes,

I saw wisdom and worry,

He gave a long gaze,

But I knew nothing was blurry,

He said he knew my passions,

And he knew my dream,

I belong near the ocean,

And nowhere in between,

He told me to look in the mirror,

And see my true reflection,

He asked if it seemed clearer.

Marine biology is my passion,

And being near the ocean is my dream,

I am about to attend college,

And all is moving faster than it seems.
