Talking to Myself

I followed you willingly

With innocent eyes.

Not fully understanding

Your terrible disguise.

I knew something wasn't right,

But I continued on,

Hoping you would change

And see your wrong.

I tried to obey,

Just like you said.

But pieces of me shattered

The more I laid in your bed.

"Don't you love me?",

You would inquire.

"Go ahead and prove it.

Your life is on the wire!"

Frantic to win

Your affection,

I erased all my friends

and loving connections.

Still, you were unhappy

with my actions,

So I gave up trying

To give you satisfaction.

This is not Love.

It never will be.

I'm leaving you now.

Before you break me.
