Talks With Dad
I always hear
But I don’t always listen
All your yelling, all your fighting
Yes your temper, it has risen.
I always hear
Dads’ priorities are this
My priorities are that
Can’t you just for a second,
please be proud of me, Dad?
I always hear
Daughter, you’ll never have success.
Without money you’re nothing,
You already failed the test.
Daughter I cannot support you
Cause I have a new woman now
She’s my number one.
How much more can I allow.
I always hear
But now it’s time to say
Your mindset is all wrong
Have your priorities gone astray?
I need to live for myself,
Your standards are just not right
I will live for myself,
Against you, Dad, I will fight.
