Tamarind
Popping pills on the streets
and in the classrooms
Drug dealers like the ice cream man
for adults
Money does fall from trees
New Mercedes
after pay day
Cocaine filled nostrils
instead of air
Smog built up in our lungs,
chocking the wasted youth
living in sheds
with tinfoil windows
on Tamarind
Their kids want better
But they aint going nowhere
They're junkies
They'll never amount to anything
No,
heroine fed from the breast
of a mother who sold her body,
not to feed her children,
but for the high
Sneakers dipped in tar
They aint going far
Play dead ---
Bang
Bang
Bang
Nobody's safe
Blood filled sewers
Cracked sidewalks
See nothing
Hear Nothing
Say Nothing
If you wanna survive
