Tame

Words like water slowly seep into the inner services of my brain

Through the millennia of programming that have made me claim to be tame

Yet her words rang like the melodies of dead musicians inside his head

Like those things inside our souls and at the tips of tongues unsaid.

Although their meanings often escape me

Like the dreams of childhood tend to do

For when we chain them down too tightly

Out the window there they flew.

Through the treetops of your memories, past the well of secrets in your mind

All these dreamy dreamt up reveries only waste more of our time

And once again his broken heart lay shattered on the floor

Like shards of glass of something better, someone to adore

The sun went down on my ghost town; there are things much worse than night

Say giving up the greatest love for things worth less than spite.
