Tangled Mess

A troubled mind doesn't sleep
Floating words keep me company
Running through my mind again
A hollow heart trying to love
Grasping at air, my fingers slip through

Fake smiles to get me by
Something is tugging at me, dragging me down
So much in my head
Why can't I say what I feel?
Why can't I say anything?

Mind goes blank
An empty canvas, a clean slate
Running in circles I get nowhere in life
What am I running from?

Past trying to catch up with me
I'm out of breath
Air refuses to fill my lungs
Surrounded by forgotten memories
You're all catching up with me

Can't breathe in this life anymore
Exhausted and overwhelmed
So lost, can't figure out what to do
Over-thinking every decision
Heart pounding in my chest
Feet wobbly, eyes blurry, I'm lost

Trying to pick myself up and move on
Maybe a little crazy on the inside but I’ll always smile
No sincerity, you'll never know
A crazy, jumbled mess
But you'll never know
