Tap Tap Tapping Away

Another morning set in front of a computer, tap tap tap
The life of a homeschooler, hidden away from the struggles of being a regular high school student surrounded by brick and mortar, just tap tap tapping away.
No one to share the struggles of that two page essay that you are so dreading to come, but if not completed you know that you are probably going to flunk, so as I did the previous day, I placed my fingers on the keys and began tap tap tapping away.
Some days I just sat there, staring at the monitor, wondering what now to do, what now to type, anything besides the exertion from chores that my mother was more than eager to have me do,
I placed the mouse over Microsoft, remembering that an essay by tomorrow was due,
And again, I began tap tap tapping away.
My fingers moved graciously over the keys, there I realized that the sentence I had just wrote rang a rhyme with a certain meaning,
Each day after the tedious work of my irrelevant high school tasks were complete, I would pull up Microsoft and continue that now unconventional beat,
where I found that my heart held a lot more than I most certainly did believe.
Tap tap tapping away, my mother would pass me and continue to ask how many papers could you possibly have to write today?
But what she failed to realize was that the tapping was not of an essay that I was being forced to produce, but my voice, finally being able to be portrayed, from within my own roof.
Tap tap tapping away, I have now written over 2000 words in this one day, from lyrics to poems to songs, really, the tapping is stemming from them all.
With family walking passed me with whispers and aaa, they intently wonder what's the reason for all the tapping overall, a boy, depression, another recipe being published for her blog? But what they failed to realize that it was the passion of a homeschooler, finally finding herself from among the loneliness in which she felt all year long.
Tap tap tapping away,
No more searching for a passion I must say,
For the search was now over, and ever since my mouse went tap over Microsoft Word for a graded essay,
There was not a day that went by where the sound was not distinguished throughout the entire household
For it was a sound that began from that very day,
It was the sound of my tap tap tapping away.
