Tape

I believed your lies for the longest time but I’m done with believing when I know it’s fake. I was so desperate for love that I would trick myself into liking you for the chance that I would find it.

These words are flowing off my pen like I planned this and it won’t stop because I’ve got so much to say about you.

You broke me in every way possible and I’m trying to fix myself with tape but tape only hold so long until it peels off leaving A pile of broken pieces and the residue of the past.

But it held up so well on the outside that you never stopped to make sure I was OK.

You can’t just disappear from my life when I need you the most, when all the pieces of tape fell off and you’re staring right at the pile of broken parts on the floor, walking away with pride, a smile, and the glue in your hands.
