The Tarnished Crown

I'm a king with many castles and mansions

That you will claim, you will take them all away

You act as if, you don't care, but that's untrue

And I see through, the games you play, the words you say

I think I am so close but I am really so far away

I never felt as empty as I do right now

And I can't hide my Tarnished Crown

In my private hell, I can't find myself

You can really lose yourself, the demons in my mind, they dwell

My sorrow comes and goes, it gets bad I know

But I can't always let it show, it's better off left all alone

The games we play, the words we say

I wish I could put these bad memories in their own hiding place

It was you, you pulled me through somehow

But you can't replace my Tarnished Crown

Each day we drift apart a little further, sometimes it's hard to understand

You can put the past behind you, but you never do always forget

I wish I could rebuild my castle, now washed away in the sand

My kingdom is lost and gone, I have done all that I can, but it's out of my hands

Each day we drift apart a little further, it's getting hard to understand

All these bad memories I still remember but all I want to do is forget

I wish I could rebuild my castle, now in ruins for a long, long time

This enchanted queen is no longer mine, because I just couldn't make things right

I wish there was some way that I could get through to you

But sometimes these wounds we have, they don't heal like used to

Every now and then, we can heal ourselves with some time

But sometimes these wounds are permanent and I can't fix them, no matter how hard I try

It's seems that all is lost and I will never get through to you

I am at a loss at all of the horrible things that you say and do

You then make it clear that you belong to someone else and you were never mine

I think it's about time that I count my losses and say goodbye
