The Taste of Goodbye
Stones pricked my feet as I walked on the shores,
Many seashells but interested no more.
I plunged my toenails deep into the sand,
And wait for that wave like another chance.
I sighed and wept as I scanned the shoreline,
Can somebody hand me a glass of wine?
Bring it to me as swiftly as you can,
My last request under the scorching sun.
Maybe the skies above would lend a hand,
And offer me someone who understands,
Or maybe the current would drag me deep,
Into the ocean trench before I sleep.
