Te amo,Because our love

Te amo,

Because our love is kind and gentle,

It washes over me like the lapping tides

Of a relentless and salty sea.

When I push back a dam of emotion,

You are the channel through which

It pours out of me,

Eroding the rocky jumble of negativity

Into softer grains of sand.

I apologize for splashing your shirt,

But you laugh and get me back later-

Mi amor.

Je t'aime,

Our love frolicks and romps, full

Of youth and gaiety.  I can cry

In shrieks and gasps of laughter

When you refuse to let me go;

Dancing fingers inescapable,

Much to your joy.  Merciless tickling

Earns you ceaseless teasing, because

I always get revenge,

But always we have

Each others’ backs-

Mon amour.

Ti amo,

Weeping for the times I was

A world and walls apart from you,

The pain of separation forced me

To remember I can’t tell where

You end

And I begin.

To have nearly lost

That which I hold dearest,

Brought deep realization

We needed to change for each other.

Not to become that which

Neither is, only to perfect

The finest art of compromise,

So you and I share a happy life-

Il mio amore.
