Teacher.

Maybe you came

when i needed you most,

or maybe this is all illusion.

Maybe you said

what I needed to hear,

aleviate all my confusion.

Maybe you taught

me more about me,

an introspective woman indeed.

Maybe i learned

what i needed to teach,

if I asked i know you would've agreed.

I hold tight to thoughts of you

telling me which way to look,

remind myself of those days

when all I would need was a book.

I'd escape the thoughts of times to come

I knew I'd never be this young.

These days it seems iPhones replace the sun,

But you made me feel like I didnt have to run.

Maybe you came

when i needed you most,

or maybe this is all illusion.

Or maybe I'll teach

the kids around me,

what it truly means to be human.
