Teacher No

Walk into school,

Thinking you're cool

Unprepared

Can't even share

We did the reading

What were you, eating?

I have something to say

But you keep me at bay

I try to speak up

But you keep me stuck

I want to succeed

But my creativity, you bleed

I start to stay quiet-

My mouth with no bite

I start to look down

No longer do you frown

But then I see

You move to the boy next to me

You single him out

Making me want to shout

He is not strong

You quickly pull him along

I meet your eye

That boy may die

I'll take your words

Fight back with my immortal swords

I will not bite my tongue

You are so wrong

Because I will take the hit

Bite down on the bit

Because now I know

You cannot bring me down low

This I know,

So teacher- I say no.
