teachers day

You held my hand the day, When I came under you sway. As I went through the pages, You marked my life in several stages. You held my hand steady, When to write was I ready. Felt you my pulse of learning, Then did you spurt goading. Often when clouded with dismay, Teacher thou like shelter stay. Trudged to school with satchel I Urge and spirit amongst them vied, The moment you came my way! Many a time did I falter, You used your love as a halter, To ease out the best in me, For within me teacher, you could Better see. Hunt me you did not teacher, But drew me to your heart. You bathed me each morning, With your charming smile, Patted me with your soft words, A word not that was vile. Blessed me thou o teacher, Under whose bower I shall lie.
