Tear The Light From Thine Eyes

And now you bid me

tear the light out of my eyes?

I will not,

I cannot!

For if ignorance indeed be bliss,

Then rather I would wallow forever in despair.

I shall burn down this vile institution

where hypocrisy reigns,

and awful corruption sits high

upon The Throne of Pretense.

I will rain my new-found light upon this place.

All will topple under rays of frightening truth.

Tear the light from my eyes?

I cannot.

I will not.

I'm from South Dakota and I love poetry. In every spare moment I am composing lines to new works in my head, and I am always working to gain inspiration from everything around me. I play the piano, guitar, ukulele, banjo, and percussion. I love to draw and I love anything that involves zombies. Someday I will see the world.
