Tears

Huddled and trembling

Cramped in my closet

Pondering over the harsh words

Maliciously uttered by those I held dear

My face was flooded with tear after tear

My face was flooded with tear after tear

Lying defeated on the floor

Severe trepidation and anticipation of the worst overwhelmed me

I felt worthless, hopeless

A failure to be sure

My calculus exam had not gone as planned

Convulsions throughout my body ran

A multitude of repercussions haunted my thoughts

Ceaseless tears flowed as I felt horribly lost

Ceaseless tears flowed as I felt horribly lost

Gazing at the coffin

Denial holds me fast

Never to hear Mother’s voice

Never to feel Mother’s touch

Alas, her vessel could not last

Her spirit has moved on

Yet, in this I find little consolation

My river of tears ne’er ceases as I crumble with tribulation
