Tears from an Angel

Waves come in and out
as I'm thinking about you now
wishing I could just shut up
because you can't take back love
I didn't know that falling in love meant falling apart at the seams.
I followed you dreaming, hopelessly believing, giving you my heart and it's key,
And with your best intentions in mind
you opened it up, and desperately tried,
to fix it,
but you couldn't...now it's broken
I don't blame you
for not loving me the way that I loved you...but you tried
But I can't stop from wondering,
what happened to that something
that part of you that made me feel alive
what was I thinking?
Did I really believe that
you could ever love me too?
And you never gave,
but I didn't complain,
because your smile was something I couldn't lose
I guess even angels have their wicked ways,
and we're all sinners before we turn to saints,
wings of white and tears of blue...that's how i'll remember you
