Tears of blue

Tears of blue

A perfect life you can say
he had a beautiful house
He had a beautiful wife
They had beautiful children
His home
His life
Perfect

And so did it seem
Then one day we knew
And it changes everything
My hands shook
My eyes welled with tears every time l looked *
My mind was a blur
It felt as if we lived with a monster
As if something had possessed him
And we hoped it would go away
That he would be ok
And everything was going to be normal
It wasn't
he wasn't
And it wasn't going to be

The air began to change
And the silence turned into noise
And the peace turned to anger
And yelling
And crying
And banging
And lying
And screaming
Then it all faded out
Like day faded into night.
Subtle but never seems to last

And I couldn't see through all the tears
And I was curled up on my bed
And my sister at my side
And she stood in the doorway
We were pulled to her side
And her reassuring voice in our ears
It was loud
It was painful
I was broken

My face was hot
My hair was wet and dripping
Fat rain drops
Tapping against the window
It was raining
The gray seat belt dug into my cheek
My sisters head bounced
up and down with the car
Her eyes unfocused and glazed over
Her Cheeks Puffy and red

He was driving
His eyes were red from tears
But I didn't notice that
I was too scared to think
He looked back at us
Once
Twice
Three times every minute
Constantly checking on us
As if we would disappear
He opened and closed his mouth
But no words came out
Unsure what to say
So
Just
Tap
Tap
Tapping of the rain
And the radio played
but its music muffled under the weight the silence
And nothing seems to matter
The earth just spins in a world of
Gray
Like the sky
Damp and insignificant but created all the tension as tight as the ropes
that bound our necks that made them crack

His heartbroken wife
Cries from the pain swelling from beneath her breast
Staining her shirt with the blood of her love
wasted
Love wasted and unreturned

His children
Impaled
fragments of their life broken embedded in
their skin
Sewn up with string
But still bleeding
With every
Last
Memory

His perfect home
His perfect life
Gone
And so are we

So do not cry tears of blue
They're wasted on your skin
do not cry
Do not weep
For they are not born to keep
But created by lies
To hurt the weak
And burn down houses
tears of blue donO't extinguish the flames they just ignite the fire

So the door was slammed shut
It opens no more
Like my heart
its closed
Locked
Key swallowed
Like the words of this story
Chewed with a bitter taste
Thrown up into this slobbering mess
So these tears of blue stain
And create pain
For everyone around me

People
They don't understand but laugh behind their hands
Judgement dripping from their lips
Like Drool
As they feed on my misfortune
Like vultures gawking
Always circling around your headq
Because youre perfection
HAs an expiration date
And mine was due
So drink up
These tears of blue
