Tears of the Trail
The land of us is strong, wondrous and
great. Vast evergreens, beautiful rivers
and the love of Mother Earth around us.
Everyday was life unti the last of the
next day crept.
On the dawn of cousin heat, MAN of a
strange kind struck us with deadly blows.
Weapons of shiny spears and loud
sounds.
Our fight is strong but we could not
overcome the enemy. Night comes and
most of the men are killed,we are chained,
our women beaten and raped, children in fear.
In the night we are whipped,
mocked and threatned to walk to
a place unknown. Every painfulstep
we take is wet from the tears.
Tears of death coming soon,
tears of the pain and fearful thoughts,
tears of us wanting to die and not live
for the forthcoming.
I want to not bare the future,
let me die and go home then live
to be another. We might be forgotten
but the tears of the trail has not.
