It goes like this

A message in a bottle

Two metal cans on wires

Flashlights flickering on and off

It goes on

Each more intricate than the next

Increasing inability

Assessing control

Interpreting information

Carousing communication

With the other

So as not

To be alone

To remind

That someone else cares to listen

And know a little bit about the world

Beneath your eyes
