Like it or not it’s here to stay

It all started way back when

When all we had was paper and pen

The telegraph was the first on the scene

With dots and dashes, you know what I mean

Then came the western union telegram

Where important messages were delivered by hand

All this led to say

Technology is our world today

Like it or not it’s here to stay

The phone was then developed by Bell

A line of communication where you don’t have to yell

Technology affected slide rules as well

They turned into calculators and boy did they sell

All this led to say

Technology is our world today

Like it or not it’s here to stay

Words were transformed from type to screen

Which saved a lot of white out you know what I mean

Then came the computer a big bulky machine

Which got smaller and faster and came in green

All this led to say

Technology is our world today

Like it or not it’s here to stay

From the desk to the lap to the hand it has become

You no longer have to type just use your thumb

Now you have the world in the palm of your hand

And you don’t even need to move or stand

All this led to say

Technology is our world today

Like it or not it’s here to stay

I am excited to make the transition

From High school to college to start a new position

As I move through the next stages

I will learn through digital pages

Collaborating with my cohort will be in all forms

Through discussions to help reshape societies norms

Technology can help us like never before

Giving us the tools to finally soar
