You betrayed me with your cruelty

Tried to leave me empty hearted

Tried to drain the last drop

STOP

You held me hostage in late night hours

Once all of my screams were muted

Once I was silent and at ease

You decided to pacify me

STOP

My mother’s brother

Man of God

Nothing reverend about that white collar you wore

Palms

Freshly soaked in holy water

Lips

Sinfully parted from prayer

Hands

Lightly brush against my leg

Hands

Press hard against my thigh

Hands

Clamped tightly over my mouth

Hands slip deep into my...

STOP

Despite what you did to us

Here we stand

Fallen angel and sacrificial lamb

Waste of boy and radiant girl

Black bear and flesh filled honey pot

STOP

I haven’t forgot

What it feels like to have a heart torn apart

Mouth full of blood

Chest full of scars

STOP

I am better because of this hurt

STOP

This healing

STOP

You will never see the extraordinary women we grow to be STOP

You will never know the beauty that resides in me STOP

All because you never learned the meaning of the word...

STOP

Never yours truly, a survivor who will never be your victim Dakota Zihuatanejo
