Telescope Eyes

Mon, 03/09/2015 - 20:17 -- Mumbles
I have seen the moon
How many times have I seen the moon?
One hundred? One thousand?
I have seen the moon many times

But tonight as I lie under the sky
And dream of dancing among the stars
I focus my eye on the heavens above
And it all seems closer than before

I study the moon through telescope eyes
And for the very first time
I see the cracks and craters
That cover her face

Her distance and glow once hid her scars
The moon who lives alone
She is so much more beautiful
Now that I see her flaws
