The valleys green, the ocean blue
The golden sun in the afternoon
The soft brush of and offshore breeze
And in the fall, the piles of leaves

All of these come and go
Some without notice, to and fro
Hustling, bustling; can't waste time
As if stopping and looking has become a crime

Stop for a minute, smell the fresh air
Then stop others; so much time to spare
Life is short; the world is great
Take a deep breath, everything else can wait

You have to learn to breathe
Look around, just breathe
Close your eyes and breathe
Life is short, but you never have to leave

At times it seems life is hard to control
In a downward spiral, you've got to grab a hold
There's so much pressure, so much to do
Just relax; just be you

You don't have to follow; you don't have to lead
You don't have to worry; you don't have to bleed
Don't lose your focus; keep yourself in line
And you'll take notice that in a little time

You can learn to breathe
Look around, just breathe
Close your eyes and breathe
Life is short, but you don't have to leave

Sit back and breathe
Hold on and breathe
Stay strong and breathe
Life is short, but you don't have to leave

Don't lose your focus
You never have to leave
