Tell Me Something

Say to me what needs to be said. 

Give me a reason to understand. 

Then maybe i can say something.

There are times when we must try to understand why people do what they do,

Then there are the times when we should not.

Tell me something that could keep me here,

give me a reason why.

why you say what you mean and don't, though it's always what you don't say that makes me think.

Then there are the things you give me,

the things that turn a smile and make me laugh.

Tell me something to give you reason.

I never thought to ask myself this and I leave that thought behind me.

Reason for what you do, for what you say, for what you give that makes me hurt.

Though I know you never mean for what you do, enen though what you are to me says different.

Tell me something that will keep me away, away from the pain you infict even as you smile.

So say what you mean or don't speak at all, tell me your thoughts, then I may truly know who you really are. Give me a sign that tells me the truth, maybe, just maybe, I'll say it all back to you.
