Tell me a story...

Tell me a story,
A story that never ends.
A story that will not leave me
Feeling heart broken in the end.
I've been disappointed before.
I was caught in the adventure,
But then left behind on a deserted shore.
How cruel, oh, how unkind
To leave a soul behind.
I walked once with you
Allowing my world to become new.
I trusted in those beautiful tales
But as an unfaithful lover, their commitment failed.
They ended and left.
Leaving me all alone.
Those words on a page betrayed me
And now I must make do with where I am and what I know.
