To Tell the Tale
Poetry is the inspiration
To be all I can be
Despite the supposition
That I am simply he
Who settles to a low position
In some institutional tree
I seek an unconventional life
One filled with adventure and strife
One that makes for a good telling
An extraordinary one worth living
But how? I do not know
I only know that I must go
To find something more
A winter warrior to the core
Looking for his nightingale
Oh wouldn’t that be a tale?
Poetry is the way
A desperate communiqué
To tell an epic story
of thrills, of journey, of glory
And though I have many pages to fill
Before I end in the forever-chill
I must write my stories down
In a form of great renown
Poetry.
