Tell Them

Somebody tell them I'm not who they think I am.

The face they see is the one that's not real.

The heart they break is the one that really feels.

Somebody help me with this mask that's gotten stuck.

Words getting hurled turn adhesive with my blood.

Closed minds are being sharpened and jabbed into my skin.

Somebody help me take off these shiny clothes.

The tattered rags beneath them are soaking up the blood.

The hidden armor is chafing beneath these prison doors.

Somebody tell them they are unraveling a ragged soul.

Thoughts and teachings dueling, wearing through with holes.
