Temporary Distance
Remember me when I am gone away.
Remember me when I am gone
away to chase the dreams I’ve always had.
Remember me when I am gone
away to be who I am supposed to be.
Remember me when I am gone away.
Remember the nights we stayed up
laughing, talking, getting to know each other
letting all the things we couldn’t say
be transferred to each other with a touch,
a hug,
a kiss.
Remember me when I am gone away.
Remember how we met.
Remember how we’d fight,
break up to make up
curse, scream, and argue
then in the morning greet each other like nothing happened.
Remember me when I am gone away.
Remember the shade of my eyes.
Remember how I snort when I laugh.
Remember that I am afraid of thunder but I love the rain.
Remember what made you fall for me.
I’ll be thinking of this when I miss you,
when the nights are cold
and my bed is lonely.
Remember that this trip is only temporary,
that it will take more than distance to erase what love I have for you.
Remember me when I am gone away.
Remember me when I am gone
away to chase the dreams I’ve always had.
Remember me when I am gone
away to be who I am supposed to be.
Remember me when I am gone away.
Remember the nights we stayed up
laughing, talking, getting to know each other
letting all the things we couldn’t say
be transferred to each other with a touch,
a hug,
a kiss.
Remember me when I am gone away.
Remember how we met.
Remember how we’d fight,
break up to make up
curse, scream, and argue
then in the morning greet each other like nothing happened.
Remember me when I am gone away.
Remember the shade of my eyes.
Remember how I snort when I laugh.
Remember that I am afraid of thunder but I love the rain.
Remember what made you fall for me.
I’ll be thinking of this when I miss you,
when the nights are cold
and my bed is lonely.
Remember that this trip is only temporary,
that it will take more than distance to erase what love I have for you.
Remember me when I am gone away.
