Tension
Two sides
Two perspectives
Neither good nor evil
But with obvious opinions
But who knew that destruction
Could be caused by one act
And cause so much tension
That utopias lack
But tension is like waves
Upon jagged shores
Breaking us like rocks
Striking at our cores
And over time we slip
Into the cracks of anger
And misunderstanding
Is sure to waver
One side yells, "Fire!"
And the other commands, "Follow suit!"
So sanity deteriorates
With nuclear weapons in hot pursuit
Is there a hope
For a world with no tolerance?
And if there is no hope,
The world will not end in silence.
