The Test
Don't try to fake the pain
in the midst of the
shame
At first you claim,
"I'm not the one to
blame."
But when your words are put to
trial
your schemes cringe in a
downward spiral
Did you really think your dial,
wouldn't show your nitch for denial?
Had me fooled for a while, silly mind games
Thought I was winning
While you picked your cheats from a familiar pile
Did the laughs go for nothing?
and the smiles?
and tears?
Guess I was a fool to think
you could sustain love
for all these
years
