Tether of Love

Ever since I first met you

I’ve had the same recurring dream

I worried you didn’t like me too

I was right… or so it seems

I feared the thought of losing you

For my feelings were extreme

We’d spend so much time together

You had me latched on like a hook

I wish I would have known better

Curse the heart in which you’ve took

I am captured in a love-filled tether

But you wouldn’t care to take a look

Night after night I cry myself to sleep

Wondering why you’ve done this to me

I dream of you instead of counting sheep

I close my eyes, there you seem to be

Silently crying, not making a peep

My heart’s locked up, you behold the key
