Tethered

It’s like there’s a rope connecting us

Invisible but strong

Wherever you go

That’s where I want to be

I sense when you enter a room

And the emptiness that follows your departure

Feels packed and stale

I’m claustrophobic alone

And free when you’re near

Why must it be this way

Never to be one

But not whole without the other
