The Text

It was a Friday night

I was texting my girlfriend

When it happened

We were just texting

That's it

Texting

When all I got was

See you soeslkndfaoskt

I didn’t know what that meant so I didn’t think much of it

But an hour later I saw it on the news

I guess I wasn’t going to see Shelly soon

I was still going to see her

Just

Not alive

How was I supposed to know

I couldn’t have just read her mind

The news headline that night had been

The Final Text

And on the screen it showed a turned over car

And a phone that said

See you soeslkndfaoskt

How was I supposed to know she was driving

Shelly wouldn’t see me soon

Shelly wouldn’t see me ever
