Arise daughter - Arise from your slumber
Arise from the ashes of despair and hopelessness because your reality was closer to a horror movie than a Disney movie
Arise from the shame of abuse and neglect, of feeling unloved and unwanted and in the way for being alive when nobody wanted you in the first place
Arise from mental slavery believing you’re not good enough or pretty enough OR smart enough
Arise from not having your voice heard because your voice was not significant enough, nor important enough
Arise from bitterness and anger of past hurts that threatens to fester your body and consume your soul
Arise from feeling overwhelmed and drowning from raising babies alone, for having to play your God given role as mother, and at the same time being a daddy as well
Arise from daddy issues, from looking for validation and acceptance in those old enough to be your father, because a father figure was never yours to have
Arise from having your head bashed in and your ribs broken, simply because you needed to feel loved, even if the same hands that embrace your longing body, was the same hands that bruised your delicate body
Arise from giving your body away to Tom Dick and Harry because feeling dirty still felt way better than being lonely
Arise from having to be strong for everyone else when you didn’t even have the strength to be strong for you
Arise, you are royalty, Arise you’re the daughter of a king, Arise your bridegroom is waiting
Arise
